Due to my post on another topic about a way to improve UNGL, I figured it would be seen more if I placed it in it's own thread. How to improve UNGL; Prevent the inactive teams from competing in leagues.. Create a CSSmixes like thing where they get reliability, and teams can see that before they accept their match or not. As for leagues, you need over a certain reliability to enter your team.. Then they become accustomed to the community / league before they enter anything, also makes the site more popular, as the people who only turn up for leagues will in effect be forced to participate more Every full match played = a reliability increase Every match defaulted = a reliability loss Opinions? Too much hassle or beneficial in the long run?

i like it, i get messages every single day about teams not turning up for games and i know it is annoying. Only thing is people seem to just create a new team left right and centre when they don&#39;t get the results they need. Could do with something to stop that as well.

could you not barr players from joining another page for a week if they leave one ? so they cant just make new pages and play xD

I think there should be some sort of rating system inplace like they had on ED where you put ratings in to play agaisnt certain teams on the ladder so that not anybody can accept your challenge. Would be a very good as low teams always have the possibility of playing some one in the top 5 of the ladder where they will just fail and wont enjoy it much it could also increase the amount of games which are being played

You could get a black flag for a number of things that were annoying including players throwing abuse at you in game. I also think that if a clan leader leaves a team then he / she should not be allowed to create a page for at least 7 days.

I like the idea of accumulating certain points for playing so many games per week (ive elaborated on the idea from OP) So say for instance 1 game = 1 point week 1; if you play 3 a night on mon, tue &amp; wed, you get 9 points week 2; if you play 3 mon, 2 tues &amp; 1 weds, you get 6 points week 3; if you play 3 a night on mon, tue &amp; 1 wed, you get 7 points averaging this out your team would have a repuation of 7(.33333 recurring). We can then set a rule saying only teams with a reputation over 5 can join the cup/league/whatever. This would again stop people from recreating new teams.

was probably removed due to the points system being pretty messed up, we was 313 in the 2v2 ladder and after winning one game we were sent up to 90 odd, its the same story with the 5v5 league, having limits on points simply does not work since the points gained and lost in games is ridiculous. carlos that rule fails as soon as another game is played as well since you lose and gain so rapid in this league, instead of points you should base it on ranks, but again with how weird the points are you just do not know what you can get. Barry that rule would not work for teams such as mine who only play 2 nights a week, if we sign up to a cup it is due to we know 100% we will be there without fail, so if my team played 2 on a mon and 2 on a tues for 3 weeks that would make our score 4 and if you put the cup out for a tuesday and said you have to have the rep level of 5, how does that make it fair on my team? it doesnt is the answer. i know this is not just my team i was using us as an example.

im in favour of these ideas, especially limiting idiots er i mean certain players from creating teams every 5 minutes ,loosing then creating another team. the points/flag system i believe would also be a major plus as its a shame for the amount of effort put in by the admins into cups/leagues etc just to have defaults occur on a regular basis. This way only certified and reliable teams would take these much sort after slots and make less work for the admins having to default matches n shizzle.

There are a lot of plans that we have adminside for UNGL v3 and hopefully <a class="member" href="/users/1"><img class="flag" src="/assets/flags/gb-417616f06ffcafdc9723a024c03e744a52ffd732dd5b5101b41053c2e918870e.png" /> <span class='has-admin'></span> &nbsp;<span>paradox</span> </a> can implement a few if not most into it.

Similar in the way that CSSMIXES works and logs when the ID was changed just so that we have a record of changes. - Libra shown as on for being in game. Again similar to how it is on CSSMIXES (obviously can&#39;t be serverside like cssmixes) but perhaps an indicator of which users have Libra on the match page or on the team page (red/orange/green) There are many more, but I can&#39;t post them here as they are sensitive regarding Libra and other finer workings of the site.

fix the points system, we only play for fun and everybody leaves at 16 we want to play all 30 thats what Mr15 means. Its not really fun when a team accepts your game, tries incredibly hard then leaves at 16 and leaves you with a 25 min gap before you next game, for teams like us that dont care about winning its really boring i get that UNGL points mean more than money to some people but it just ****s up our schedual which is already limited and hard to work as it is. and by fix the points system i mean make it actually work. gaining the exact same points for winning 16 - 2 as opposed to winning 28 - 2 is just wrong, thats why teams dont play out because once you hit 16 there is nothing to play for, this isnt a cup its a ladder, and as sidimmu said going from 300 odd to 100 odd in 1 result should not be happening, its not a ladder if you win 5 games go top 10 then lose 2 and fall to 50th, it needs calibrating to the teams better reguardless of who we play if we lose we lose between 10 - 16points and if we win we gain 10 - 12 ( this obv isnt every fixture but these are the numbers i see all the time when accepting results).

the points gained and lost from a game should be set as a standard, although i agree if a team at 250 beats a top ten team they should get more points than usual, but its proving with your system its just not working. points gained and lost should either be a set figure which does not improve people leaving at 16 rounds, or to have it set that if you manage 2/3/whatever rounds after 16 you get an extra point or two, it should not be using anything from the opponents rank or current points.
