The Death Knight is a heroic class originally introduced to World of Warcraft in the Wrath of the Lich King material in 2008, and with the release of WotLK Classic, many players are looking to benefit from this class later this year.

The powerful plate armor wearer can be either a melee DPS or a tank and starts at level 55. As such, players can only do one of these on each server.

Probably the most important thing when creating a Death Knight for WotLK Classic is that it runs. Unlike other classes, Death Knights can be used as any race in a Wrath game.

Because of this, choosing the Death Knight's race is complicated and depends heavily on how you want to use the character. Is the character Horde or Alliance? Is it primarily used for PvP or PvE? Finally, will you use it as a tank or as a damage dealer?

Your answers to all questions will help you determine which race your DK is, but ultimately it will come down to personal preference unless you are on a very high-tier team or trying to be a top PvPer.

Players on the horde side can use orcs, trolls, minotaurs, undead, and blood elves, but there are some excellent options depending on whether the player is a tank, DPS, or PVP player.

From a PvP perspective, the Orc is a particularly useful choice, as the Command, Ax specialization, and Blood Rage will help you increase your damage against other players. Cold resistance gives you a bit of stun resistance, which can come in handy against professions like thieves.

Similarly, Troll can be a viable DK option, as Da Voodoo Shuffle reduces crowd control and Regen restores health. In addition, Berserker has a powerful three-minute cooldown.

As far as PvE goes, Trolls and Orcs will probably remain the best races for DK players who want DPS. Like the other traditional materials, Bloodlust and Berserker have strong cooldowns. The Orcs have the advantage that they have a way to increase the DPS of the evil DKs and that they specialize in axes.

When tanking as a DK, Trolls have a slight advantage over Orcs due to Berserker's regeneration and threat generation. Also, consider using a blood elf as a DK tank, as Arcane Torrent provides AOE silence.

alliance

Alliance players can transform death knights into humans, dwarves, dark elves, gnomes, or draenei. Much like the Horde, there are a number of races that stand out for different reasons depending on what you're doing.

Humans are probably the most versatile choice and the strongest of the PvP races. Perception goes off cooldown to become a less powerful passive skill, but it's still useful against sneaking enemies. Each in its own right is a new race for WotLK, perfect for support against crowd control with a two-minute cooldown.

From a PvE perspective, humans will still be one of the best options, but for different reasons. The Sword and Monkshood specialization, while nerfed in WotLK, is still useful. The Draenei are another powerful race, as their passive race, Heroic Presence, can grant players on your team a 1% hit gain.

If your Alliance DK will be used primarily as a tank, you might want to consider other racial options. Stone Form is a very useful tool that the Dwarves provide with a two-minute cooldown that improves armor, while the Dark Elves' Swiftness passive increases a player's chances of dodging attacks. Both of these abilities make Dwarves and Dark Elves the strongest tank options for Alliance death knights. For more you can visit https://www.wotlkclassicgold.com/
