Hey im going to upgrading my pc this month, i have had a search for parts and this is what i come up with, wondered if i could have an opinon.

MOBO, CPU, RAM - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-042-OE&groupid=43&catid=339&subcat=1803

CPU cooler - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-040-AR

Graphics - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-185-XF

I got HDDs etc any recommendations on any other parts?

At the moment i have a 550W Coolermaster PSU would that power this?

Very good specs

03  QCK the 550 will power that I should think, the GPU will need it's own power supply so your PSU should have the cables for that.

How many HDD's do you use, coz I had a less powerful setup than this at one point with 520W and eventually had to go to a 750W due to pushing the wattage limit

Also your 550W should have enough Voltage rails to support the GPU nicely as well

Sweet, i have a 1TB on the way and i may put 2/3 smaller drives in too just to fill up the space.

I still got all my cables etc so probably be buying this tonight :D

I was pushing power so bad that one of my HDD would shut down when I turned fan speeds up etc, so just be weary of that

I'd use the 1TB drive for everything and use a smaller drive just as a system drive, you should be fine :)

I don't think our opinion would be very valid based on the information you posted above due to us not knowing your current specs etc, for all we could know you could be downgrading your pc from what it actually is :)

any info on current specs etc?

So theres nothing you would change in terms of a better Gcard for a bit more or bit less?

No, I have the graphics card you linked to. And it does everything I ask for and more. And if you get that CPU you should be able to run any game on whatever settings at a high fps constant. (Excluding Crysis & friends).

Depends on what you play tbh, for just CSS

you could have a 256MB gfx card with that i3 and rape the living **** out of it

no joke lol

03  QCK have you looked on other sites? I know ocuk is a decent site, but its usually more expensive than some sites. I just recommend you hunt around for best possible price from uk of course before just rushing and buying all the parts only to find you could have saved like £100 or whatnot :)

03  QCK

also, if you check around on ebay - for an extra £100 you could get a very high spec pc. Ive seen some decent QuadCore's with like GTX400 series pc's for just under £400 (couple days before end)

03  QCK , to be fair, I can't really help you if I don't know what your budget is. If you give me an idea of what you're wanting to buy and how much you can spend on each component, I could then comprise a list of solid components for that price range.

03  QCK

Would probably spend around £500

Per component or in total? If that's the total, then you could get a speedy AMD system or an average Intel system.

Hope this helps =]

Edit:- The Intel one is future proof, it's the latest Sandybridge chipset and is generally faster, but not by much. If you're looking for a stable quick-fix, then AMD is the better solution. It's not that much slower than the Intel processors and the only time you'll really notice a speed difference, is if you're using a lot of editing programs like Cinema 4D and Adobe After Effects.

AMD is also more "bang for your buck" from what I've read.
