Is this correct? Are there two "writer" core's the (1st and "3th") and two "reader" cores (2nd and 4th). If so would what

Am genuinely curious over the matter, just like my sexuality - however that is a thread for another time.

what I've learned in school is that a Quadcore 2 times a dual core is.

So this means the following:
dualcore:
-CPU1
-CPU2
Quadcore:(2times dualcore)
-CPU1
-CPU2
-CPU3
-CPU4

So in this case is CPU1 the writer and CPU2 the reader => Dualcore
In the Quadcore you have the same ones but 2 times. So CPU 1 and 3 are the writers and 2 and 4 are the readers. What you can do and that's depends on config and hardware settings / msconfig ... . You can make like Libra running on example cpu3 because 1 and 2 are more used then 3 and 4. In my case of the computer hardware and of my book of school. I don't think they are lying to us, but sometimes they are wrong even but I don't think so.

So basicly, quadcore just handles better the load on CPU x] . Instead of reading e.g CPU1 and writing on CPU2 for dualcore, it handles better using CPU1, CPU3 and reading on CPU2 and CPU4

Sorta correct?

Yea kind of

But seeing as we used to run on single core processors which could both read and write, surely all 4 processors nowadays, in the case of a quad-core, should have the capacity to both read and write?

I can force applications to use a single core from my CPU which is an i5 quad-core; thus this core must be able to read and write, so that theory does not stand up against scrutiny.

Me can even do that, but there are worked together like 1 and 2, 3 and 4. When I have the book again I will send you example ok :p

Sure :) I'd appreciate that.

an hexa-core processor?

That's the same I suppose but 3 times a dual core. Not sure about this..
