Exactly what CS:S needed tbh.
People need to acknowledge that CS:GO is a business move in a way.
For all those of you who are going "NOOOOOOOOO GNNA STICK TO CS:S" - Sorry, but CS:GO is the new CS:S.
It will be running on a slightly updated version of the Source Engine, guns, movement, etc will be more or less the same. As 3k2 said, the game will be easy to pickup for Source players as it will just feel like CS:S but with a massive graphical update, and changes. It's nothing like the jump which was made from 1.6 to Source. It won't feel like a new game to us Source players... just like a heavily updated Source.
Valve could have just released a massive patch for Source to turn the current Source into what GA is going to be... but it's a business move from Valve. If they release it all as a new game - then people will buy it.
I can't wait for this game to come out. I just see it as it is - it's Source, with a reskin and an update to an extent to give it a better competitive aspect.
I've seen so many people complain about it, and it's annoying because they wouldn't be complaining if it was a big "CS:S update" because they'd still see it as "Source". But now everybody is seeing it as a totally new game - which it isn't.
CS:GO could be the best thing which ever happened to competitive Counter-Strike!
Why? Because they've got bloody Verygames, mTw and everybody telling them what to do with the game. CS:GO is made for competitive Counter-strike: Source players who keep complaining about the lack of updates etc. For once they're listening to us - the players - and making the game the way we want it...!
