Sup folks,

I'm looking to give my aging LG E2240 a friend to hold hands with so it doesn't sit on my desk lonely as **** for the foreseeable future.

Problem is that I'm a tight bastard and honestly can't make my mind up where to go monitor wise. Ideally I'm looking for a monitor anywhere between £100-200 but have a few questions.

1) IPS - Is it worth it? Should I care? Should I just be looking at teh low ms?

2) 120hz - Anyone sporting a fairly cheap 120hz monitor they'd recommend? Obviously the high end BenQ is beautiful, but it's a touch too expensive. Should I even care about 120hz?

-----------------------------

Monitors I've seen so far:

Any help would be much loved.

tl;dr Sparky wants a new monitor but is being cheap about it.

Would be already pushing the budget a lot to get that lower end BenQ unfortunately. Have to agree though, the XL2420T is a beauty.

I'm not 100% sure if i'm correct but IPS monitors are mainly for Graphics/Web and Video development i think.

is right, unless you're going to be using it for pro gfx/vid editing/production, IPS would be a waste, especially considering how expensive some of the IPS-specific monitors are.

If I were you, I'd sell your wheel chair and go for the BenQ, just my view though.

120 is a really good monitor from what I read and the difference is noticeable to a certain degree. Like said previous I would sell your old monitor to make up the difference and go for the £234 one, either that or sell yourself a few times, in saying that you would have to sleep with 68 people willing to part with 50p...

Cheers for the feedback folks, appreciate it.

Looks like I'm going to have to be a slut and find the money for the XL2411T.
