Just a little idea, when you sign-up a Trialist instead of setting them to Member straight away, you can set them to Trialist. So you can Trial them while in officials, as a lot of teams do.

No I mean, when you can select "Leader, Deputy, Planner, Member There should be a selection for "Trialist".

i find it "usefull" atleast something worth trying, for example : be able to put up a trialist, and the "timer" should be put to less then 24 hours.. :)

might be... but then again, i was not saying it should be set to 30 min or 1 hour, what i ment is to reduce it to something like between 5 - 8 or something :)

Generally you still don't skip the timer. The timer will still stand it will just show Trailist not Member.
Then there's no point, as they're technically a member of your team, just doesn't say for how long they are so. :P
Fair does, but Trialist still comes into consideration. Since they're not a "Full Member".
They may not be a full member but they are a member of some sort and the title says "Member" :P
But they are still a member in some aspect :P. If they're trialing, then they are a temporary member, if they're in then they are a full member.
As people stated earlier in this post, if there were allowances made for trialists to be ticked early, then people would abuse that.
The system is fine Mark, don't try to change it :P

How to improve UNGL; Prevent the inactive teams from competing in leagues.. Create a CSSmixes like thing where they get reliability, and teams can see that before they accept their match or not. As for leagues, you need over a certain reliability to enter your team.. Then they become accustomed to the community / league before they enter anything, also makes the site more popular, as the people who only turn up for leagues will in effect be forced to participate more
Edit : Every full match played = a reliability increase
Every match defaulted = a reliability loss
This will also discourage people from making new teams every time they get smashed really badly.
