In light of a few events struggling to attract teams, a few online events that have struggled to stop defaults, I have done a "rant" type article and told people to buck their ideas up, whilst looking at some of the common reasons as to why people cba playing CS:GO.

It'd be worth noting that the cancellation of the Open Ladder Playoffs, and the defaults galore in European Cup helped fuel this "rant" article.

Please share your thoughts, as I'd like to know why others can't seem to play this game like we did with CS:S.

cause cs is better? ha ha i kid, dont want you to give me a wall of text, but for me personally its not fun to play, which end of the day is the reason, a game is a game, so as for lans i'd rather not spend money on something unless i know i have a chance of actually doing really well, which is hard to motivate myself when i dont find this game fun, nor do i find people who are "nice" and not ****s who spout loads of crap at the other team and tend to spend most of their life on the dole and the people who are "nice" tend to have a full roster all the time.

The key reasons for me:

--
1) The 'top' of the scene hasn't changed.

The players at the top are the same old, everyone below them carries illusions of grandeur. The top players simply aren't letting the new folk break in to the scene, whether it be by not playing with them, or by refusing to acknowledge them.
--
2) The community is dire.

The game is simply stressful to play. Rarely do you see a match where players aren't boasting about their own skill, flaming others, or being general pricks.
--
3) Players don't have their heart in the game.

People play, but still hold fond memories of Source and 1.6. It doesn't matter that the new game may be better, communities are still firmly rooted in older iterations of the title.
--
4) The game is more competitively focused > community.

My 10 cents.

Good article, enjoyed the read, especially on such a prominent issue.

open ladder finals cancelled? news to me

I just dont like the game.

The things that are the most annoying for me is the movement and the player models that have some serious back problems.
