Back in the day :D i remember when we use to do smoke screenshots one team line up on one side and the others on the other side and throw smokes into the middle and take a screenshot of it ... With AO (ambient occlusion) ruining the game, maybe it's time we bring it back?

actually yeah, this is true. AO has become as popular as vent.exe did back in the day.

You have teams lineup, either side of a smoke, a take a screenshot. This screenshot has to be uploaded, as it will reveal anyone using ambient occlusion as they will be able to see the other team.

Then you close source, turn AO on, then re-enter the game. Or like my old amazing laptop, tab, turn it on, tab back in while source is still running. /pointless

Erm I'm not too sure. I know I only got it when I installed a certain set of drivers on my 8600m GT. Short of removing the AO feature from NVIDIA drivers which is nigh on impossible, I suppose you could force drivers to take up a certain set of settings to avoid the problem, but I'm sure that wouldn't be a very popular choice.

You could enter a rule that when a player drops he needs a new smokescreen?
