with editing.

So basically, I wanna get into editing, apparently I have some talent within all that creative stuff, from what people have seen of my PS skills and what not.

I know Vegas is a must
AE is optional
Magic bullet looks is pretty much a need now a days
C4D is more for the advanced editor am i right?

Well basically, I downloaded Vegas MBL and AE, AE runs fine and ive used it in the past to try it out, same with vegas, however Vegas nor MBL work at all.. Vegas wont crack so I gotta use the trial atm and MBL just doesnt load.. you click load or edit i think and it should then pop up, but it doesnt.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction of a working Vegas and MBL please.
Would be greatly appreciated and you'll get to tell me my work is rubbish!
So all round good deal imo :P

Thanks in advance lads!

. Au conrtaire monsieur. Though editing is of an elitist nature, if you have the passion and drive to experiment with something that interests you then its worth having a go.

Any work you produce will undoubtedly acquire critique, and often a mixed response as a resultt - yet the same can be said for playing any team based game. Of course if you're new then you won't be brilliant, but this shouldn't stop you trying by any means. If you approached Counter Strike with the same attitude as the above then you would have quit before you had even started.

Unfortunately I'm dribble at movie making so I can't help you.

Just go for it, it's fun to do, if you want to do it, then do it, people telling you not to isn't helping you..

Best thing to do is to look at tutorials, then get a good song, sync frags to it and it should turn out ok, just don't over do the colours or speeding up or slowing down, it just ruins the frag to the point we can't see how good it actually is.

i did have an epic tutorial but uploader has deleted it which is a shame, was a css movie makers tutorial aswell =[

Only advice i can give you is dont over edit, dont make different colours for every kill and do a flyby for each one, make it nice and simple with good legit frags

Brill advice. I'd personally start off by imitating different editors styles before you develop your own.

Massive + 1. 20 second clips are more intro and outro than the frags usually

you need to gt a massive selection of samples (basically a massive library of frags to work with)

start off with the frags themselves. Start in STV before anything
capture frags in many different ways, find the good angles and try cutting angles together.

Capture at a high FPS so when edited it looks smooth.

Work your music to the frags, not the other way around. E.g. a 5 man over the whole 2 min round is not going to be fast like stopping a rush. get Music that will fit these type of frags. The same goes for frags like stopping an A rush on INF, faster music will work.

Colours.
You want to work with slightly better than game colours, however don't over correct, overdone colours look out of place and fake, and distracts from what people see.

Basic tips, but should help you along your way
