Counter strike Global Offensive

From various sources

"Ammo is free as in source, it was debated a couple of times through the day though, so it might not be how it's going to be in the final version, even though I personally think it won't have ammo-buying.
There are a few new guns (and all the guns have been changed more or less, but their current versions aren't at all final). There are also a couple of new nades, which are pretty cool. There are molotov grenades, which create a fire-blanket that slows players are little. It sounds crazy, but it actually played really well I think, even though the size/dmg might need a bit tweaking. The other new nade is a decoy-nade, that can play firing-sounds, so it can be used to fake that a player is in a position. Not sure how usable it is, but the idea is pretty nice I think.
In the current build armor is also free, but I am pretty sure this will be changed, at least for the competitve mode, since most people here thought it was a bad idea and there basically was no point to even have armor in the game, if it was given for free every round.
Because of this armor-change they also revamped the money system, which wasn't too nice, you didn't really get enough money, so sometimes you would end up needing to have 3-4 ecos or having won 5 rounds in a row and still only have 4k left xD This was also down to more grenades and other equipment being available though.
All the maps have names you know, but most of them have been altered. Dust2 only has very minor changes from the source version, but the other maps have some pretty big changes (most importantly dust and aztec have been changed to try and make them more usable for 5on5 play)
The deagle is about as powerful as in source, but it's hard to tell after such little playing time, we spent more time trying out other guns/stuff mostly" (http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/jgehv/iama_guy_who_spend_the_day_at_valves_headquarters/)

If it is made for console gaming, then yes it will flop.

If they have focused on 5on5 competitive play however, it could be good. depends on the feedback they have received from players and companies involved.

I assume most people will buy it. but look at the popularity of 1.6 even after source.

I think the same will happen here

i reckon it will be more like mw2/black ops and hence will require less skill and be just a game of ****.

To be honest, they have tried before with CSS Beta and Promod, yes this is entirely new game but i don't think it will matter so i reckon people will just not play it, or maybe a few people but not enough for it to matter.

We'll see, if they market it right, and push it to the masses, they could break COD and even turn many source and 1.6 players onto it.

Or if they do it the same way beta was done, then very very few will switch

pro mod is a community mod which has nothing to do with a new game... css beta are pre-release testing for the current counter strike source which again is not a game.

beta is just a testing ground for projects to introduce into counter strike source, not a good comparison.

Well, it's built on a newer version of our current source engine.
In all honesty - I predict that source will become obselete and GO will replace source.
Us as source players won't find a difficulty adapting into GO - except that it will look prettier and have a few new nades/guns.
Valve are creating this for US. The competitive scene. Which is why mTw, Verygames, and them lot are in Seattle right now at the Valve HQ telling them what to put into the game etc...

If they have gone to Seattle, and still end up playing Source then I would seriously laugh my ass off.

Edit

I think that this game will be a major flop because of the new guns/grenades it will become a game where you just stow in some fire grenades and done the real beauty of CS:S will be lost and that is that you realy need to have skill/aim to be good at it not like COD where you just kill ppl with rockets/choppers.

but i hope it rocks base tough.
