I read ( March 08, 2013 ) in the chatbox that Ungl is completely going over to CS:GO league matches and leaving all matches in CS:S.
Is that correct??
Has Gabe Newell done it again !!!

yes
Yeah, It's correct.
yes
We finally decided to leave CS:S and marry our mistress, CS:GO. Cheating is wrong.
hopefully!
opy
I really hope it does too! I'm praying and crossing fingers! it's not like it's already confirmed everywhere AT ALL.
Good, i like it!
-1 CSGO
+1 CSS
If someone can provide a solid argument as to why we should keep CS:S, I will read it, then do nothing.
you can bhop in css. keep it.
The comment i wrote was too dangerous for people to read, aliens contacted me from outer space, begging me to delete it
This topic invites a whole world of arguements about which is better, which will change nothing.
CSS is better btw, my arguement is valid because Jesus said so
css is wank
CS:S gameplay in general is better imo, but we have no choise so time to move on i geuss
arcane
I disagree. CS:S is too easy. I bet most of you only like it, because you can get more kills.
No offense of course.
No not at all, and stop posting crap on people that prefer source it's just a matter of taste...
:D
I think CSS it's better because playing this since 2004 (BETA) and now you give me other game (CS:GO).. For example u play Pro Evolution Soccer, 7 years and the next game is Fifa, what happends? you dont like Fifa because the gameplay is diferent.
(My english is a ****, i know)

cs:go's dire. they took everything good about 1.6 & source and took it away. even on 128 tick the game feels crap. don't even know what valve/hpe were thinking, guess they actually weren't.
Lemon
you cant even enter your steam id correctly on the site of course your gonna think a new game is ****.
Removing CSS completely from UNGL is a bad move not only because i prefer css over csgo but also you will see a big drop in activity on the website as quite a few people do still play it just take a look at the teams who have signed up to the css cup..
KEEP CSS KEEP IT REAL!
remove css, dont do cups and remove ladder
carlos
I'm sort of excited to see a sudden drop in demo reviews, fixture disputes and general dribbling.
carlos
"just take a look at the teams who have signed up to the css cup.."
20 signups in 3 days isn't exactly a lot. I mean, one of the one night cups in CS:GO with 16 slots had 20 signups in a day I seem to remember. Further to that, 10 of the teams signed up have either not played before in UNGL as a team, or have been created in UNGL in the past 2 months. Not really a valid argument for keeping CS:S if you ask me.
r0b1
Most of them are CS:GO teams aswell, they just signed up for fun because it's the last cup.
How anyone can say it's a bad move is beyond me.
dick for cs:go, css FOREVER !css BEST GAME EVER
As of this moment, CSS is clearly the better game so to speak. However, I feel in a way its good that UNGL is continuing to add more support to a growing game. Plus, UNGL can do whatever they want, it's their league and there is not much point complaining, just move with the influx wave of people shifting over to the new game. The more support the game gets, the better it will become.
I had been expecting this decision..
You just can't see any more lan parties with CS:S..
It's all 1.6 and GO, and the problem is that CS:GO isn't properly the best substitute for 1.6 and CS:S, the gameplay is ridiculous. But nevermind, I am not here to talk about that, I just want to say that you are being extremely disrespectful with the Source community given that most of the success of UNGL is given to us, the CS:S players.
Today you have lost my respect, and the respect of many CS:S players.
Go take a look in ladders compare the number of matches and the number of players that CSS and CSGO have.
Go take a look in Games section, in the most recent teams 6 in 10 are CSS teams. In matches you can also see that 30 in the 50 most recent matches are CSS matches.
It is your decision to abandon CS:S in UNGL, but it does not make sense given that most of the players, teams, and matches are SOURCE based.
Good afternoon.
Do not misunderstand me, I think you should support CS:GO the best you can given that it is the future, I feel like it is unfair the treatment that you are giving to the CS:S community tough.
+1 rebel ;)
I THINK YOU SHOULD KEEP CSS BECAUSE CS GO HAS ONLY BEEN RELEASED SO THEY CAN GET MORE MONEY YOU MAY AS WELL PLAY ON L4D2 ITS THE SAME GAME AS GO EXCEPT YOU'RE NOT SHOOTING ZOMBIES
CSS IS THE BEST GAME EVER AND ALWAYS WILL BE
FU TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT LEAVE CSS FOR CS GO YOU SHOULD FEEL ASHAMED
CSS FOR EVER <3
YOU'RE MAKING THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF YOUR LIFE GETTING RID OF CSS...
whatever you say :)

"YOU'RE MAKING THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF YOUR LIFE GETTING RID OF CSS..."
I highly doubt that. And if that is the biggest mistake of my life, I've got a pretty sweet life going on. Thanks for the pep talk :)
Can't blame a guy for trying to save such a great game?
It's like trying to convince a motionless rock to move. After reading all the replies the admins have given in this, it is clear to me that they have no intention on taking valid arguements into consideration and keeping CSS.
N7N
Valid arguments? All I've seen in this thread are people saying "the game is better!" with no reasoning behind it except the fact that they play the game still.
The standpoint for UNGL admins is that CS:S as a game is no longer a competitive FPS title. There is no support for the game anymore in a competitive environment, and as has been pointed out in this thread, the more support there is for CS:GO the better the game will become.
r0b1
well as personal arguement I'd like to state that it's a matter of personal choice with emphasis on "choice". The majority are being pushed towards CS GO, which the admins clearly approve of in this league. Thus leading to a following chain effect by others "hey bro if you go I will go also".
Although CS in general is a team game, decisions should be made as a team on which aspect of the game you want to play, whether it's 1.6, CSS or CS GO. I don't think any of these should be neglected as there is plenty of activity in all 3 of these games.
It's not me trying to persuade anyone into a decision, although the most activity on a league is achievable by a broad variety of games, which means putting support into games as long as they're being actively played and not boosting activity on another game by simply disposing of another.
And as closure, as long as ungl allows CSS to go on there is support, even if it's life support. in my opinion it's all about the market, which makes the most money. introducing a new product, promote the new product, profit.
Look at how many teams signed up for the upcomming cup for css..
40 sign-ups or something, must mean something
GRUMBLE
Five of those teams don't have the required amount of players, two of those five don't have anyone on their roster. A few of the teams are otherwise inactive on CS:S and have only come back for this one, final cup. There are also teams that have been made just to play this cup.
What does this mean? People want to take part in the final CS:S cup on UNGL.
Well even if there isn't many teams that have signed up for this cup, it's still shouldn't just be knocked on the head, yes cs go is ment to be the next competetive scene but there is still players and teams out there that won't switch to go. No league should just knock a game on the head and have no support, even if you just have 1 admin to see to Css and have the others to just support Go atleast then the players/teams that still want to play css can. That's my opinion anyways and I aint no 50miller with just over 30 hours play lol
GRUMBLE
40 signups for the last ever css cup at ungl, whereas 50 teams sign up for your run of the mill Csgo cup. I don't think I need to elaborate further.
SpiKyAsH
you can't have just a single admin for a game, it would be impossible to avoid bias or get any demo reviews done.
r0b1
ok then have 2 or 3 just to CSS and have what you have now just for go, so atleast CSS is still available ?? I'd be willing to be a admin just for CSS just to keep it going.
Phantom
so there are still 32 teams left. and how are you sure they only want to be part of the last css cup if you haven't organised a cup for css in months..
ok
Is don't see the problem here.
The CS:S scene is done, get over it.
logix
I do not see how it is done? It is been forced out due to leagues not supporting it, i would not say it was done though. Ever concidered some people prefer CSS to CSGO? Just like people prefer COD to CS. Same thing really

I love re-entering in to this debate. Nothing makes me happier than hearing my least favourite tune over and over again.
How do we define 'done'? Well when a game has been abandoned by LANs, major online leagues and the players at the top of the scene it has pretty much had it. You're effectively competing to be the champion of the sh*t that's left behind.
But 'NO!' I hear you cry, that's not fair, why can't we play games for fun! Well you can. If you want the public community aspect then stick with CS:S. There is no point in continuing to play Source competitively.
tl;dr Source is leaving UNGL. We will not change our minds. OMGUNGLDICTATORSHIP etc.
Sparky
I am not debating, lan coverage does not mean it is done, when the game is unplayable that is when it is done. People talk like all of a sudden every last player has stopped playing CSS and stopped mixing when it is not the case. People still mix on cs 1.6 so i do not think your pub approach is really valid but never mind
Cakey*
tbh mate no point in even trying as you either get a rude or not necessary response back, I thought running a league the admins should treat users with a professional response instead of some of the responses that are given.
Cakey*
By that reasoning we should be supporting Quake, CoD2, CoD4, 1.6, HoN, DotA etc.
They're all still playable, so they aren't done - right?
why is ESL still supporting it ?
-
GRUMBLE
You don't see EMS or EPS in css right? They only have the ladder open, and I haven't seen any teams play in it.
http://www.esl.eu/eu/css/5on5/ladder/results/
3 matches in 17 days, pretty active I must say!
