Eye Five is looking for two more players to complete a core 5 lineup, though this isn’t your average post and we don’t want your average player. Please read the below or do not bother adding us.

The general idea is to circumvent the usual complications that cause teams to fold; Activity, Lack of progress, Team spirit & a comfortable environment to play in. In order to do this we’ve collated below the usual things that cause teams to fail for various reasons.

Established

Please be an established player... What do we mean by this? We aren’t interested in your previous teams, how many cups you’ve won. What we are interested in when we say “Established” is that you have played CS:GO for an amount of time and/or any of the other Counter-Strike games and you are comfortable with the following

· Aim – Your ability to aim overall needs to be consistent, we are aware people have “bad” days but if it’s a recurring thing it could set the team back. We don’t expect you to be a god, but know how to move your mouse.

· Teamwork – Understand the importance of working as a team to win the game, it’s great having the aim, but you will need to be able to work well in a team in order to overcome sticky situations.

· Patience – Understand that patience is required, both in individual games and for the long term, good things come to those who wait and sometimes just that bit of patience and keeping calm can be a gamechanger.

· Level-Headedness – We require you to be level headed, perceive good judgement in all scenarios. Keeping calm and collected, not just in games, but throughout your time with us. If you are not going to take the game seriously there is little point in applying. We will catch on straight away and it’s not something we are interested in.

Willingness

We need you to be willing, in all aspects. You need to be willing to do the following, or you will not grow as yourself or with the team

· Willing to research strategy, both solo and as a team

· Willing to practice strategy, both solo and as a team

· Willing to watch your plays back to see mistakes and work out why you and/or the team as a whole has failed in a situation and work on preventing this scenario happening again

On all of the above points, it goes without saying that we don’t want you getting bored within 30 minutes and shooting smiley faces on the walls etc

Reliability

We need you to be reliable if you don’t turn up to a cup, you let the whole team down. We don’t want this. We will expect you to be able to attend the cup unless something crucial comes up. This shouldn’t be an issue as things would be discussed and times agreed by the whole team. So if you don’t turn up when you said you would, you are essentially a letdown.

Composure

This is something we see all too often. People can’t keep themselves composed, if you do this and start raging because we lost a crucial round you will only deflate the team and we won’t be getting anywhere. Keep your attitude at home and stay composed please.

On a side note, as I said earlier, nobody is a god at the game, the ability to take criticism from a play you made and not trying to justify your actions mid game is crucial. These things can be left until after the game, where flooding the airwaves with your smack talk is not particularly a major issue.

Motivation – Pre and Post game

Motivation is an important part of a team both pre-game and post-game. People like to do different things before a game to ensure they are 100% in the zone. We need 110%... After games is just as important, if we lose a game, it’s not the end of the world. We need to find, as a team, where we went wrong and where we went right.

If you get upset from a loss and go AFK without mentioning anything we won’t be interested in you. It doesn’t help anyone.

Activity

We understand you have a life, but we do need you to be an active part of the team, if you can’t put the time in long term, then we will have wasted so much crucial time as replacing someone you have gelled with isn’t particularly the quickest thing to do.

You need to have stability in RL and be committed long-term to the team. For example, if you have a 4 on 4 off job, it’s simply not going to work.

Be active Sun-Thurs without fail.

Empathy

Empathy is a huge part, being able to empathise with both your team and opponents being a sour melon isn’t the best thing to do, “UK Big Boys” need not apply, nor the narrow minded.

You need the following, we can’t have things breaking during games…

· A working PC that doesn’t BSOD constantly

· A working headset with clear sound

· A working Keyboard & Mouse

· A working internet connection (If you have net issues, fix them with your ISP before applying)

Communication

We need you to be able to communicate clearly, we are open to EU players but the primary language will be English. You will need a great understanding of English and be able to communicate everything that is happening. Don’t call just after you die, call beforehand so we can prevent your death. If you die, every call is crucial, I can’t express this enough.

Summary

This all may sound a bit long winded, but we want to be truthful here, we are serious in making this team and growing as a team, if you can’t tick these boxes for the most part it’s simply not going to work in exchange we will provide:

· A quality Game Server for matches with good hit registration to practice and play on

· A quality DM server with reserved slots for each player (This server is active most evenings)

· A stable team once we have found the right guys/girls

· Active minimum Sunday-Thursday, and keen, we will take everything seriously

· Realistic expectations – We won’t be folding just because we are losing, we understand things take time, you will have made the team because we genuinely believe you are the right choice for the team. You need to mutually understand things take like.

What we are after

If you add us without at least reading this part, we have major issues…

· A Caller – with good level experience, be able to digest calls mid game and issue a plan to work with. We need someone smart, that can take things on the fly as they come to adapt and aid the team in overcoming a situation mid-game.

· AWPer – You will need to be able to control the game, sharp calls are a must in this role be able to make your shots and be experienced in multiple situations

· Be active Sun-Thurs from 7pm, if you’re on earlier, great. But we get you need to commute, eat, shower etc

Also; you must be LANable within the UK from i55 onwards!
