Phant I'll be willing to pay but as of yet would like the designer to mention if he wants to be paid or not. Not me having to say "I will pay"

If there's a possibility out there someone doesn't need to be paid then hell yeah I'll see what they have in store but for now won't be jumping to a conclusion saying I will be paying

You're likely to get a better quality of work by paying, and what you've just said would probably stop anyone insane enough to do it for free, from doing it for free (now they know you're willing to pay).

Indeed but I already have somebody making one for free.. If it turns out to not be great I will be willing to pay for a top quality one.. On the other hand I'm giving this person a chance and if it is very good and what not then I still have money in my pocket :D

No harm in trying for a free one first then if it's needed I'll put money where my mouth is and buy someone to make a logo

just find a gfx designer thats willing to make you a logo for a cheap price, some of them dont charge that much (like $10) and you get a half decent logo with the psd as well
