hi basicly my csgo server needs to be updated and when i do the control panel steam up date it asks for username and password so i opened a support ticket with fragnet asking what i need to do and he replied with this:
Seth,
You need to fill in your steam login and password (and also request steam guard code the first time you use it).
Once you got steam guard code fill in your login, password and steam guard code and it will update.

just to confirm this is to update a csgo server i rent from fragnet/immortal servers and am trying to update through there control panel :(
is it just me or does this not seem legit ?

It actually is legit basically CSGO uses steamCMD if you want mate I got a dedi box (finally) so I could sort you a server out cheap if you want?

If your worried about putting your steam account details in, just create a new steam account and use that. Thats what I done just purely for updating our servers.

Yea I get this a lot from my clients and as stated above it is completely legit. I advice making an empty account just to update of you are not comfortable with using your login

It's dumb probably because the control panels that they pay to run their servers for them, as they have no idea, haven't updated yet.

I'd assume that relies on
 Cakey*
being around 24/7 and being able to react to updates quickly. Seeing as no-one can commit that sort of time, it only makes sense to allow users to update their own servers.

Haha it takes 2 minutes to write a quick script to auto update csgo servers on linux even easier on windows which I am guessing they are using but like I said the control panels they run haven't updated yet...
